Celebrating 10 Years of Service

Ten years ago on 1 September 2007, The Peninsula Tokyo celebrated its grand opening with great pride, marking an important and exciting step in the long-term development of The Peninsula Hotels. This was the first time for Japan to witness The Peninsula Hotels’ rich history, glamour and legendary service. In its first decade, the hotel has quickly established itself as a landmark in Tokyo, becoming very much a part of the local community, as well as welcoming international guests to experience omotenashi, the distinct Japanese spirit of hospitality and service.

The hotel celebrates its 10th Anniversary this year, and just as importantly, celebrates the dedication and commitment rendered by its undoubtedly most important asset- its staff, the ultimate key to providing world-class Peninsula service to all those who have walked through the doors of The Peninsula Tokyo. Since the opening, more than 100 individuals have served the hotel continuously for a decade, a testament to the hotel’s loyalty and caring for its staff. As reflected in the hotel’s 10th Anniversary logo, inspired by the traditional Japanese mizuhiki cords that represent treasured connections, the hotel’s loyal staff convey a similar message: “We are with you, always – now and in the years to come, creating everlasting memories and guests for life – generation by generation."

As a fitting tribute to its 10th Anniversary, The Peninsula Tokyo will be throwing a grand gala party for its friends and guests on 26 October with much fanfare, a way of giving thanks to the Tokyo community and showcasing yet again the legendary Peninsula hospitality which was introduced ten years ago.
